On April 22, 2022, Canada’s immigration minister Sean Fraser announced Express Entry invitations to Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates will resume by early July.
This news is well received considering that the last FSW draw took place in December 2020 & September 2021 marked the last month a CEC draw took place.
As at beginning of April 2022, the total number candidates in the Express Entry pool are 200,924. This number is broken up as follow:
95,559 candidates with a CRS score of 0-400
48,609 candidates with a CRS score of 401-450
49,555 candidates with a CRS score of 451-500 and
7,201 candidates with a CRS score of 7,201
Our prediction is that the first two or three draws will be well above the 500 CRS score range after which it will slowly dip into the late 400’s & remain there for a while.
Those currently in the Express Entry pool with scores below the predicted draws still stand a small chance of receiving a Notification of Interest (NOI) from one of Canada’s provinces. Should you accept the NOI, you will complete and submit an application to the province that selected you. If your application was successful, you will be allocated an additional 600 points towards your CRS score that will guarantee you an ITA for Permanent Residency.
There are other immigration options available that does not involve the Express Entry pool. To explore these options, or find out how you can boost your current CRS score, book a consultation with our Registered Immigration Consultant, Marcia Freese.
